Honoring Our Veterans
Veterans Day
Today we honor the courageous service of Colorado's 425,000 veterans. We also pay special tribute to the victims of last week's horrific shootings at Fort Hood, for whom Colorado flags have flown at half-staff since Friday.
 
I hope you will join Bill and me today in recognizing their tremendous sacrifices for our country, giving thanks to all those who have served, and praying for all those currently wearing the uniform at home and abroad.

As the daughter of a U.S. Navy captain, I know our military families also make untold sacrifices every day. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

We can never thank our veterans enough, but we can make sure they and their families have every opportunity to access the care and support they deserve upon returning to their communities. This includes top-notch health care and the ability to get a good job and provide for their families.

This Veterans Day, please consider making a donation to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to support the military families devastated by last week's tragedy at Fort Hood.
